National Martyrs' Memorial

National Martyrs' Memorial (Jatiyo Smriti Soudho 1982), located at Nabimagar, Savar is the emblem of independence of Bangladesh . It symbolizes the valor and the sacrifices of those killed in the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. The Memorial is composed of seven triangular pyramid shaped structures, with the middle one being the tallest. This monument was constructed in honor of thirty lac Bangalee who sacrificed their lives for achieving the victory against the Pakistani forces.

It is a reflection of the unity and participation of the people in the liberation war from every group desperate to free their motherland from all kinds of oppression.

Soparjito Sadhinata

Soparjito Sadhinta, one of the famous sculptures on independence situated at Dhaka University expresses the representation of all sections of people and mass movement in the liberation war. Himangshu Ray and Anwer Chowdhury were two sculptors associated in building this sculpture.
